“What is it you want? I mean, what are you looking for, Quentin?” Whoa, it sounded like he’d thought this out. I know you have a job in Texas, and your family is there, but I think I have a lot to offer you here as well.” “I hoped you would be, that’s why I wanted you to come up here and see what my life was like. It still surprised me that Quentin had opened his heart to me. I could get used to this,” I said, admiring the view. “I’m not?” He tousled my hair and pulled me closer. “You know, you’re not that bad of a guy,” I teased. I liked this lighter, flirtier side of MC. I get a lot of inspiration from nature, so this is a great place to work.” “It’s nice up here.” I rested my hand on his knee and scooted closer to him. We wouldn’t have weather like this for months in Texas, so it was a welcome experience. Quentin picked up his own mug and sat next to me, placing an arm around my shoulders. I let the blanket and the warm coffee warm me as I watched the sky begin to blaze with ethereal colors. Not only did he tick all the boxes, but I connected with him like I’d never connected with anyone. Between that and his darker, kinkier side-I felt like he was the perfect man for me. I loved this chivalrous, thoughtful side of him. Quentin returned with a blanket that he wrapped around my shoulders. The brisk morning breeze was definitely chillier than I was accustomed to. He handed me the coffee then went inside for something.
